- There is exaggeration when the envelope is thrown on the desk and a loud noise is made to show that it is important.
- There is a lot sound coming from cars, and people walking, this is to show that he is in the city and how it is busy and crowded.
- Dialogue is heard on a blank screen before the scene starts.
- Asynchronous sounds with animated title
- Before the woman starts talking you hear footsteps from high heals shows its a women with power.
- Rustling from his open the letter on the desk, gives effect.
Envelope - This creates enigma, which makes the audience think 'whats inside it?'. It also shows where the character lives, and that his divorce is done with.
Table, telephone, paper work - This shows the audience that he is in an office and that it is his job.
Pen - The pen he is clicking shows that hes anxious, and nervous about what its in the letter. You can hear the pen clicking quite loud, unrealistic as it wouldn't be this loud if you were there.
Board - This is advertising his work so it shows the audience where he works automatically.
Clothes - He is wearing a suit, smart clothing; which shows hes working in an office. Same with the women wearing smart clothing and hearing high heal footsteps.
Tower Block - Shows offices.
Yellow Taxis - This shows he is in New York.
Traffic - Shows the busy environment, showing he is in a place like New York.
Headphones & iPod - When he plays music it shows because he is holding the iPod and has the headphones and then changes the song. Headphones separate him from the traffic.
Buildings and signs - This shows the audience where he is and what is around him,
Editing
Cuts - Cuts from titles to other titles. From scene to scene. From face to prop and back to face.
Titles slide in.
Shot reverse shot - with people, titles and objects.
There is different types of shots that are used that relate to what is going on in the scene.
Match on action is used when he touches a button on his iPod and then the music plays.
Uses split screen to show whats around the character.
Camerawork Features
Extreme close up is used on the envelope which creates enigma and shows it is important.
Medium shot of the scenery to show where the character is.
The letter is shown from the characters point of view, so we see what he see's, also it shows a close up of the letter showing the audience his divorce is done with.
There is a close up and over the shoulder shot of him putting his headphones in.
There was a low shot when he realizes he plays the wrong song so the audience can see his reaction to show he doesn't like it.
The camera tilts up when the packaged is arrived and then the camera goes to his face to show his reaction.
Eye line match of the assistant which shows she is looking at him.
